6 Days Murchison Falls, Kibale and Queen Elizabeth Safari is a private wildlife safari, primate safari, budget itinerary through Uganda. The route is designed around Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and can be adjusted for budget, mid-range or luxury accommodation. The purpose of the published itinerary is to show a logical journey with realistic activity time; the final proposal is rebuilt around the traveler’s exact dates, permit availability, room requirements, pace and preferred comfort level.
Combine Nile wildlife, chimpanzees, crater landscapes and the Kazinga Channel in one efficient western circuit. Africa Gorilla Trips is based in Uganda and plans the route as one connected operation. We look at where each lodge sits, how long every transfer normally takes, whether a flight genuinely saves useful time, and how early the next activity begins. That practical work is especially important for gorilla and chimpanzee permits, small-aircraft connections, border crossings, migration camps and remote parks.
Safari highlights and route
The suggested sequence is Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park. It combines the strongest experiences implied by the package name without attempting to cover every famous place. Each major destination receives meaningful time, and the route avoids unnecessary backtracking where possible. Wildlife sightings, migration movement and weather remain natural and cannot be guaranteed, but the program is structured to create strong opportunities with an experienced guide.
The trip is private unless the final quotation states otherwise. A private vehicle allows the start time, photographic stops and daily pace to reflect the travelers. Ranger-led treks, scheduled boats, balloon flights, community activities and small-aircraft sectors may still be shared because they are operated by parks or specialist suppliers. Those details are clearly identified before confirmation.
Budget, mid-range and luxury versions
A budget version protects the core parks and activities with clean, practical accommodation and efficient transport. A mid-range version adds stronger lodge locations, atmosphere, better rooms and a more relaxed rhythm. A luxury version may use fly-in sectors, private concessions, premium suites, exclusive vehicles, exceptional dining and additional nights. The experience category is not hidden behind a label: the quotation names every property, room type, meal basis, vehicle and included activity.
Pace, driving and flights
A 6-day itinerary has limits, so the route is designed around the experiences that matter most. Transfer estimates are kept conservative and account for road conditions, stops, borders and check-in. Where the package includes fly-in travel, baggage limits and schedule changes are explained. Where road travel is used, the guide builds in suitable breaks and uses the journey to interpret changing landscape and local life. We do not describe a six-hour transfer as a leisure day.
Accommodation and meals
Lodges are selected for access as well as appearance. The planning team checks distance from park gates, trekking sectors and airstrips; room configuration; food; power and water reliability; guide logistics; service; and atmosphere. Meal arrangements vary by destination and transfer day. The final proposal shows whether each stay is bed and breakfast, half board, full board or all inclusive and identifies drinks or special meals that are excluded.
Permits, park fees and availability
Gorilla, chimpanzee, golden monkey and selected specialist activities require permits or limited spaces. Migration camps, family rooms, private concessions and small flights can also fill early. We check live availability after receiving dates and do not treat an online package as a guaranteed booking. The final invoice identifies the services that become non-refundable once issued and the deadlines for the remaining balance.
Who this safari suits
This wildlife safari, primate safari, budget journey can be adapted for solo travelers, couples, families, friends, private groups and photographers. Children’s ages, mobility, dietary needs, special occasions and maximum comfortable transfer time should be shared at the beginning. That information may change the lodge, route, vehicle, trekking arrangement or number of nights. Travelers who want a very slow pace may prefer to add days rather than remove activities from rest periods.
Responsible travel and realistic expectations
Guests are expected to follow ranger instructions, maintain wildlife distances, avoid disruptive noise and request permission before photographing people. Using porters, trained local guides, community enterprises and conservation-funded permits can spread value through the destination. Wildlife is not staged, weather changes and a good guide may alter the precise daily order when doing so improves safety or the experience.
Detailed day-by-day safari itinerary
Your proposed safari program: Each day below describes the intended activities and travel sequence. Final departure times, permits, park access, accommodation, meal arrangements and any optional experiences will be confirmed for your travel dates. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Day 1: Entebbe pickup, Ziwa rhino tracking and journey to Murchison Falls
Leave Entebbe or Kampala in the morning with your driver-guide and stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an approved guided rhino walk, if booked. Continue north toward the Murchison Falls region with a lunch break en route. Arrive at the lodge and discuss the next day’s game-drive and Nile cruise timings.
Day 2: Murchison Falls game drive and Nile launch cruise
Join an early game drive through Murchison Falls National Park in search of giraffes, elephants, buffalo, antelope and lions. After lunch, take a scheduled boat cruise toward the base of Murchison Falls if included, watching river birds, hippos and crocodiles from a safe distance. Return to the lodge after an active wildlife day.
Day 3: Transfer from Murchison Falls to Kibale via western Uganda
Leave the Murchison Falls region after breakfast for the substantial road journey toward Fort Portal and Kibale Forest. Your driver-guide plans rest stops and scenery breaks, with no full safari activity promised before arrival. Settle into a forest lodge and discuss the following day’s chimpanzee tracking briefing.
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park
Report for the UWA briefing at the time shown on your booked permit and enter the rainforest with specialist rangers. Listen for the calls of wild chimpanzees and learn about forest ecology, with the tracking route shaped by their movements. After returning from the forest, enjoy lunch and a relaxed afternoon rather than scheduling another physically demanding activity.
Day 5: Fort Portal crater scenery and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Leave Kibale after breakfast and drive south past crater-lake countryside toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your driver-guide chooses a route suitable for the lodge and park entry gate. If arrival time allows, take an introductory game drive in search of antelope, elephants and buffalo before dinner.
Day 6: Morning Queen Elizabeth wildlife and return transfer to Entebbe
Leave early for a short game drive or scenic stop in Queen Elizabeth National Park before the long road transfer toward Entebbe. Your guide plans lunch and comfort breaks around travel time. This is a significant driving day, so the itinerary does not promise a full Kazinga Channel cruise before an international departure.
Accommodation and meals: The named lodges, room types, meal basis and included transfers will be set out in your personal quotation. Activities requiring park permits or special operators are confirmed only after availability is checked.
